About my photography journey
I have always been fascinated with photography however, it wasn’t until 2016 after I graduated from university and returned home to the North Pennines that I started to take it more seriously. Through exploring this new hobby and the landscapes around me I quickly developed a creative passion that continues to this day.
Previously I lived in the Allen Valleys which is a great influence to my work as I continue to be inspired by this exceptional environment, consisting of vast open landscapes, dark skies and rich industrial past. I find inspiration in all the seasons particularly countryside scenes from warm autumn colours to snow covered landscapes. I have a soft spot for the wildlife, sunsets (maybe the rare sunrise) and astrophotography, which makes the Allen Valleys a true haven for a photographer.
Recently I have relocated to Morpeth and this has provided me with new creative challenges to explore the surrounding area, with castles, seascapes, lighthouses and ever-changing light all on my door step. There are no shortages of inspiration and a chance to expand my skills.
As well as my personal work, I collaborate with individuals and businesses that are looking for high quality imagery. This includes, food, property, commercial projects and product photography. Whether capturing a landscape or working on a commissioned shoot, I always aim to create thoughtful and well-crafted images that tell a story.
